Dead Fingers


Birmingham sweethearts Dead Fingers took to the sofa and played a jubilant version of Twisted, the title track of their upcoming record. The duo has been turning heads all over the south with their unique chemistry and charming delivery. Twisted is set to release in the spring of 2014.

Duquette Johnston


Rugged Birmingham songwriter and PIPEANDGUN artist Duquette Johnston swung by the sofa for a stirring performance of "Storms" from his 2013 full-length release Rabbit Runs a Destiny. The record is available through iTunes, or on vinyl through Communicating Vessels.

Armand Margjeka


Armand Margjeka had a run with Birmingham alt-country band Buffalo Black before launching his 2010 solo debut Margo, Margo, a whirlwind of color and romance, followed up by the sure-footed and shimmering Blue Wind EP in 2012. Keep an eye out for Armand's full-length record Hummingbird, set to release in 2014 on PIPEANDGUN.

Brooke Waggoner


Brooke Waggoner stopped by the sofa before her sold-out show with Josh Garrels at Birmingham's Workplay Theatre. Brooke took to the Wurlitzer for a whimsical rendition of "Waterlogged" from her 2013 record Originator.



R-Tist is a visionary, quick-witted force of nature in Birmingham's hip-hop duo The Green Seed. He gives insight into his writing process and performs a verse from The Green Seed track "Night Time," followed by a dazzling bit of freestyle.

Preston Lovinggood


Former frontman of Birmingham supernova Wild Sweet Orange, Preston Lovinggood is quite at ease in his newly established solo career. His music is just as compelling whether on The Late Show with David Letterman or a late night sofa session. His upcoming record, Shadow Songs, is set to release in February on Communicating Vessels.

Brilliant guitarist and songwriter Taylor Shaw seemed right at home singing his lovely tune Marigold on our sofa. Shaw belongs to Birmingham's beloved The Great Book of John, whose upcoming record is set for a 2014 release on Communicating Vessels.
